Half Price Off Peak Leeds to Sheffield
West Yorkshire Metro are currently promoting half price Cheap Day returns from Leeds to Sheffield during November 05 and January 06 for off peak journeys. A colleague at work had also heard about this and will be travelling to Meadowhall for £3.00 return. A trip to Sheffield will be £3.50.
It looks like the tickets will have to be bought at the station, the TrainLine and associated sites are still quoting the full fare.
I also could not find any mention of these reduced fares on the Northernrail website, the actual train operator.

It would appear that the half price ticket is restricted to be used only on the limited stop service via Barnsley, i.e. it may not be used on the Virgin Trains or the stopping trains via Moorthorpe. Please also note that this ticket is not valid for travel between 4.00pm and 6.00pm Monday to Friday evening peak hours.0 -
