Payment Due Date

in Credit cards
Hi,
I have a Virgin Money credit card and I usually pay my bill on their website using my debit card.
I have just paid it now but noticed on my statement that the payment due date is on Sunday 24th August. With this not being a working day and with Monday being a bank holiday, my payment won't show until Tuesday.
So, my question is, with Sunday and Monday not being working days, will my payment be classed as a late payment or will they account for the fact that it ha cleared on the first available working day after they Sunday due date?
Cheers

Double check, because they might require payment 5 working days before the due date to clear on time for the bill.0

...my payment won't show until Tuesday.
What's the situation with telephone made debit card payments? Is it quicker? Might be an option...at least for the minimum payment? Ring them NOW!!!
For future certainty set up a direct debit instruction.
EDIT: Virgin money use a Co-op Bank collection account. Complete longshot...will a BACS transfer from a Co-op bank account get there any quicker?0 -
thanks i will call into a Co-op tomorrow and give it a try. I will definitely set up a direct debit for next month.
I think its strage though having a due date on a non working day, never seen any other company do it like that0 -
A virgin payment done on line takes up2 2 working days to clear. So if your payment is due on Sunday could you not just make the payment today (Thursday) and hope that it clears in time - this way your not getting a late payment charge. I would still ring them and get some advice on the matterxXx0

If you paid online via Virginmoney.com before 5pm on 20/8, your payment will be received on 22/8. However, if you paid AFTER 5pm, it'll be processed on the 3rd working day i.e Tuesday 26/8 in this case, on account of the Bank Holiday Monday.
If you pay at a bank, be it cash or cheque, you have to allow 4-5 working
days. If sending a cheque in the post allow 7 working days (thanks to Royal Mail!! ). Setting up a dd is a very good idea, as it means you won't get a late fee or lose any promotions, and you can make additional payments on top of that, to reduce your balance quicker.0 -
