Charity fundraising help required please

We are currently trying to raise funds for our local junior football team. We've decided to try and hold an Ebay auction by writing to organisations for donations. We've tried the soaps and all the football/Rugby/cricket clubs but so far haven't received very much stuff. Does anyone have any ideas of who to write to to help our cause. Like most fundraising we have a very tight budget and have already spent a lot on stamps to only get refusals from nearly all the sports organisations.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Alan

haven't done this on Ebay, but my experience of organising raffles was that it was worth going to local shops and asking face to face. I know you're looking for something with more than purely local appeal, but any local tourist attractions might be worth writing to, if you haven't yet done so, as some will send free tickets. Other than that, if you have anyone who knows anyone, that's another line to pursue!

Football teams etc only tend to support their local charities. Try local hairdressers, beauty salons, restaurants etc. Good luck...
    I haven't got one!

Yeah, it seems that way, some of the local stuff is starting to filter through so I guess we should go for lots of smaller prizes which should raise about the same as one big one. I guess it was pretty niave to expect Premiership clubs to send anything worthwhile as they must get loads of genuine and not so genuine requests.
