Has anyone else visited the site www.flookle.co.uk?
It's an auction site which seems to have some fantastic bargains on it. You have to buy credits in advance for 50p each, so I dutifully bought £25 worth so I would have enough to bid on a digital camera.
First obstacle: each item has a reserve, so my first bids on a camera were wasted because it didn't reach the reserve.
Second: If you don't win the item all bids you made are lost.
Third: Each bid costs you 50p but only pushes the price up by 8p.
Fourth: There aren't enough bidders to get anywhere near the reserve so no-one can win.
Fifth: you can't push the price up economically by yourself as each 8p bid costs you 50p.
Sixth: There's no way to get your money back once you've bought your credits.
Is this legal? There must be other suckers like me out there, and this site must be making a mint without ever having to sell anything!

This took less than ten seconds to find...
Do I get my credits back if I lose?
No - Once you have placed your bid your credit has been spent and cannot be refunded.
Did you actually read the site q&a's?

I think the OP wants what is left of her £25 back. She understands that her 50p bids are lost. From having a quick look it seems as if bidding on this site is a form of gambling. I wonder if they need/have a license for it?!?[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -

Ouch!
Doesnt look good. Sorry to hear that OP.
Just looked at the one of the Xbox 360 bids (Item #312).
They say the reserve price is £74.88, so if my calculations are right ( please correct if wrong ) they need 936 bids (8p each) in order to hit this? 936 bids means they make 50p each, which is a sale in bids of £468 to them!
Do you then have to pay the £74.88 ontop of the bid?
Perhaps if you are the last person to put a bid in it's a deal, but what is the point in putting a bid in before the reserve price is met then?
Can they legally do this though?0 -

My apologies to the OP. Read the first two sentences - was enraged to see that this was the user's first post. Put 2 and 2 together and made SPAM.
Clearly not.0 -
