Hi Guys,
I'm not a very computer literate person so I need your help. Like many of you I have my anti virus free with AVG 8.0. My problem is that everytime I have to open and log in to my computer the update manager showing "connection failed" so that is why I need to manually update everytime I log on. My update manager setting has been ticked to " start automatic updates".
Do you guys knew how can I resolve it? Your replies is much appreciated.

contrary to popular belief, I am all Woman.0 -
I just ignore the message - once I've been online for a short while, it updates automatically. Check out the icon on the taskbar - it'll take on the usual AVG icon once it has updated.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Mine won't update automatically hence I need to update it manually every time I need an internet connection. The icon on the taskbar if I ignore always shows a red exclamation which shows connection failed.0

I used to be a user of avg until 8 was released.
I downloaded it, and it messed my computer up and it took days and a lot of backing up to get it right again.
I have since changed to Avast antivirus and I find it much much better than AVG0 -
Double click on the AVG icon, then go to Tools, then Advanced Settings, then expand the Schedule tab on the left, then choose Virus Database Update Schedule.Mine won't update automatically hence I need to update it manually every time I need an internet connection. The icon on the taskbar if I ignore always shows a red exclamation which shows connection failed.
Now check the settings on there, make sure the Task Settings 'Enable This Task' box is ticked.
Finally, under Other Update Settings, tick the 'Run The Update Again As Soon As The Internet Connection Is Available'. Click 'Apply' and 'Ok' and you're done!I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
