Epson Stylus Colour 600 software

This printer was first purchased with a system running win 95 and then upgraded to win 98. The supplied software worked well.

The printer is now on XP and the original software is of no use (won't load). However XP has software for the printer. But I'm experiencing problems with it.

Every day or so, without prompting, the printer goes into head cleaning mode prior to printing a document. As you can imagine, the ink cartridges are running out in a fraction of the time that they used to when running with the original software. At £20 a go the printer is proving uneconomical to run - but I hate throwing things away that are otherwise working well.

I have searched the web for alternative drivers but with no luck.

So - Is there any way I can use the original drivers under XP?

Thanks

Simon
