problem getting a loan

My boyfriend is in the RAF and lives on base. He needs to buy a new car as his is on his last legs only he can't seem to find anywhere that is willing to give him one because of where he lives and the fact that he is not on the electoral role as such even though he is registered to vote. Not even his bank will give him a loan.
His thinks his only option is one of those car loan places which he is reluctant to try because of previous bad experience of them.
Does anyone have any ideas of any other options?

Nothing he can do really, things like yes car credit, carcraft etc will give him a car, but in the long term he will pay a fortune.
Being in the RAF, living on base he wont be on the electoral role. Therefore when they carry out a credit check, they cant find him at the address (the base). If he has been in the RAF for 2-3years this can cause problems, as they then go back to the address before.
If he was younger than 18 then, he wont be on the electoral role, so he wont exist.
Needs to get himself out of that overdraft, in credit for a few months, the bank will offer him a loan then & in the meantime get himself down to PSF and get a form to put him on the electoral role.
Hope it helps,

If he lives on base, I assume he works on base too.
Why does he need a car?
Surely not borrowing money and not buying a car would be a great bit of money-saving!0 -
I never had a problem getting a loan whilst living in....
Could he use his parents address?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
we never had a problem but we used my parents address as it was a fixed uk address, and that was when we were living overseas. he could also try armed service finance, they did the finance on our car, they are a great company to deal with and they specialise in armed forcesLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:
Current debt levels: OD £3860, Loan 1 £6091, Loan 2 £5052, Parents £260, Total £16133  As at 01 May 2012 - 51.69% paid off :j

Get on the electoral roll first all he has to do is ring the council and they will send a form and you send it back that simple
you sure he hasn't had any bad credit before (as most young guys do in the forces)If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Can he get on the electrol at your house? Rather than a Barracks? Or his bank, my husband has had the same thing, in the end his bank where the best people to go with.0

How do i go about contacting armed service finance? My husband is having the exact same problem, he gets provisionally accepted and then they dro him when they find out he is in the army.0
