Last Minute Holiday - help me find one please !

Hi

My friends and their family are looking for a last minute holiday.
They can fly from tomorrow (21st August) and need to be back by 2nd September.
So a 10 day holiday is possible if leaving tomorrow or Friday, and a seven day if leaving between Saturday and Tuesday.
I have been searching all the usual places, but am struggling to find anything.
I have told them the BH weekend is a bad time to be looking, but we will keep trying.


Family - Two adults, three children (16, 12, 4)
Destination - Anywhere Greek, the Canaries or the Balearics. (or they may go for Turkey if all else fails)
Budget - £1500
Airport - Any airport from the south coast up to as far as Manchester / Leeds / Liverpool.
We are in Wiltshire, so southern airports are better, but will drive north for a bargain !

Sorry, no chance in the way of packages. Prices start at around 350pp with a linked flight (out of one airport, back to another, usually scotland) for a week self catering. More or less every tour op is fully booked for hols returning before the kids go back to school and the ones that arent linked flights are starting at £400pp.

This is the busiest week of the year.

Thats about what I told them. A bad week to be looking for a holiday.

Cheapest I can find is Ryanair Sun 24 Aug return Mon 1st Sept Bristol to Barcelona Girona £808.81 (bags extra and if doing airport check in etc and using card other than visa electron to book) www.travelrepublic.co.uk use august in promo box 2 star s/c in tossa de mar £641.37. www.transfers,net £81 for transfers. £1531.18

Hi Stacey, What have you found out about Lantis world (as I recall you saying this am in your post that you were dubious about booking with them), that makes you confident recommending them? Their deals are certainly very good if they are a legitimate company, regulated by ABTA (but like you were earlier-I am concerned as can't see their ABTA registration on the site). Thanks in advance for your reply.

Why doesnt your friend visit their local independant travel agency?
