When a marketing job is just standing in the street.....

During the couple of hours that I was with the 'trainee managers' or whatever they like to be called, I was repeatedly told that Kevin O'Neill is rolling in it:rotfl:
I can't see it myself, all he does is interview people day in day out. And I don't fully understand how it works but the 'trainee managers' must get a little bonus for recruiting people, because the one I was with seemed gutted when I said 'door to door selling! See ya!!!'

hiya ive just left uni and been searching for jobs for quite a while...
i found one of these jobs.. but obv had not read anything about them , i went to the interview, and was chuffed that they asked me back (as i had been turned down by a few places before this)
i then went back the next working day to shadow a guy and see how the company worked. We had a meeting in the morning to teach us about the structure of the company and earning possibilities etc, as soon as i heard that there was no basic I got a bit wary, but stuck it out for the day.
We were going door to door trying to get people to sign up for a blind charity... and I saw no sales.. which was not a surprise - (nothing against the charity, but 90% - maybe more people will not be too happy if you knock on their door and ask you to sign up for a tenner a month or whatever). the office was in dartford and we were selling in guilford... and without any notice I am told that 4 people that worked there were coming in my car to get there... i had to double take! in the end i got no money for this either (why i didnt quit then and there i dont know) - normally everyone who goes in your car is meant to give you 2 quid for the ride... they got a free one that day and that still makes me really angry as I nearly ran out of petrol getting them home...
At the end of the day we had a second interview which i also passed, but by this time i was getting even more unsure.
I go in for my first proper day and i shadow the same guy again - this time for a different charity - this one was for thai children. and guess what,,, NO SALES so I go into work from 11 am to 8pm for no money AT ALL, i didnt like the risk - I am planning to be renting with my boyfriend and couldnt do a job tht was going to be so risky (i wouldnt have got far with estate agents either as all I would have been earning was commission which they dont count)
needless to say after that day i quit, I dont mind calling at peoples houses for things like avon, cos they are hardly ever arsey with you,.... and NEVER as much as the people i saw whilst working for this company.
can i mention company names?? if so I will cos there were tonnes of ads for different places all over the UK udner the same name, and i advise anyone to steer clear of them.0 -
I'd post the name Snugsagrub. At least if people google the company name before they go for the interview they may be directed to this thread. Then they will know what they are getting into before they go.0

Its funny how the same company keeps getting rubbished
What happened?
did one of these diddy 17YO executives get sacked for being useless and end up working in McD's where they should have been all along0 -
well on the job websites (how I applied) the company came up as 'The Klub', if you search it you will find that there are jobs advertised everywhere... often several slightly differently worded ones.
Although what I found was weird was that when I went for the interview (this one is in dartford) and had trouble finding the office - I asked a couple of office receptionists if they knew where The Klub was, and neither of them had heard of it.. I then phoned up their number asking them where the office was.. and it was in one of the exact buildings that I had asked at! - the receptionists didnt recognise the name 'The Klub' because the real name of the company is Positivo! :S weird I know :S
I cant find positivo on totaljobs.com but there are lots of 'The Klub'...
this experience has taught me that if something sounds too good to be true 99% it will be too good to be true... people should never have to work without a basic wage either.... not if you have resonsibilities!0 -
does anyone else agree that something should be done about these companies?
people are getting sucked into these schemes that someone is making money from. But they sure as hell wont let you make any money from it.
They say that the reason they want to promote you is because it rewards the promoting manager financially and it is low risk. I can understand why people work at these companies stick around, thats because they want to believe what they are hearing. I know people who earn the kind of money that these "managers" claim to earn. I have been reliably informed that Kevin oneil, like most of the managers lives with his parents and drives a car worth no more than 10,000 pounds. You would have to be an idiot to believe that this guy is rolling in money! Maybe they need to read a book on "how to appear rich" because thay are very bad at it!
Another point i may add is that when you are building your team of people to get promoted, you quickly realise that they will hire literally anyone. Im even talking people who can barely speak english! These same people are also being told that they too will be a manager one day, raking it in! It makes me wonder when BBC programmes like "the apprentice" feature the best young people in the country, competing for a job that pays 100 000 pounds a year. And these so called marketing companies will hire anyone and tell them that they too can earn this amount of money, not to bother going to university and work reasonable hours for a good wage. They try to convince you that anyone who works 9-5 and actually gets paid a guaranteed salary, is a loser! It is much better to work 14 hour days out in the rain, knocking on doors trying to sell stuff, working your guts out to get no-where. I just feel sorry for the people who still work in companies like KPJ or JPK advertising, who actually believe that staying there will actually pay off one day. It is just a matter of time before the following points sink into peoples heads:
.Making no or very little money is not good.
.You are not insured or covered for personal injury when in the field.
.You are working more than twice the amount of hours you should be.
.It is deemed a good week if you earn 300 pounds in the field; when you do the math, against 70 hours, that is about 4.20 an hour. Alot less than the minimum wage. If you worked that many hours at minimum wage, you would probably be richer than Kevin Oneil !
.It is highly unlikely that you will get to management.
.If you do suffer the mis-fortune of being promoted, they will make you sign lots documents and take a business loan.
.They claim this loan is intrest free but lets be honest, who lets you have a loan for free lol.
.As a manager you enter a vicious circle of franticly trying to hire people to do sales to pay off your debt.
These companies are very good at making these points actually sound attractive. I think that once you are a manager, you are stuck until you pay off your debt and get out.
This may be a good job opputunity for you if:
. You have absolutely no qualifications whatsoever !
. You have no experience in any job !
. You have no friends !
. You want to lose your friends if you have any !
. You have no aspirations to buy a house in the future !
. You enjoy public transport !
. You enjoy frustration and rejection !
. You enjoy working long hours !
. You want people to pity you !
. You want to lose respect from your family !
. You dont want to get married and have kids !
. You find it easy to lie alot !
. You are good at making people think you are rich when you are broke !
If you are looking for all this in a job, then work for a company like this !0 -
Hi guys,
I posted regarding KPJ on MSE....now if you type in KPJ enterprises on google my post is the first thing that appears! Absolute comedy! Hopefully a few people will google the company before signing up and decide against it!
Just a suggestion, but if you've had a bad expereince with a particular company you could write a post with its name in the title and due to the way google works, there's a decent chance that your post might be the first thing that comes up when people look for them!0 -
I have just been reading all these threads for KPJ, and oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it is really sad how you people have no life and feel the need to attempt to ruin other peoples by slating there business, just because you couldn't do it!!!!!!
How pathetic to sit at home thinking about what to write next and how to try and make poor Kevin O'Neill sound bad.
Not like any of you lot would grow some balls and say something to his face!!
I think yes he may be sacrifice his time and effort, to invest into his business but he is the one with a business, not you!!!!!
Obviously I am am a friend of Kevin's and i have no shame in saying that. I'm not nameless like you lot!!!!
I haven't worked in the business, however, I do have a family and I understand how important it is to support and provide for it.
This must be what being unemployed does to you - hope I'm never in your positions wildt, ianianian jonboy69!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed they're scum
I think it is really sad how you people have no life and feel the need to attempt to ruin other peoples by slating there business, just because you couldn't do it!!!!!!
At no point have i slated this business. I simply stated the facts... my friend was taken on to work over 60 hours a week for about £100 a week, no benefits, self employed so had to do own tax etc, no help from KPJ... that company took from him and gave nothing back.
I could quite easily take advantage of people just out of school, but the fact i'm not scum means i do otherwise!
How pathetic to sit at home thinking about what to write next and how to try and make poor Kevin O'Neill sound bad.
Poor Kevin O'Neill.... lol. He sits there, gangs of kids go out working all hours in all weathers for nothing.... dear me, I think a remake of Oliver is in order staring our pal Kev!
Not like any of you lot would grow some balls and say something to his face!!
Lol, lol, lol, lol, lol! Your comments have pushed me towards contacting talk talk, lets see if they approve of an association with such a company.
I think yes he may be sacrifice his time and effort, to invest into his business but he is the one with a business, not you!!!!!
How do you know we don't have businesses?
Again, his time and effort? He's the only one that doesn't put any time and effort in.
Obviously I am am a friend of Kevin's and i have no shame in saying that. I'm not nameless like you lot!!!!
My names ian
I haven't worked in the business, however, I do have a family and I understand how important it is to support and provide for it.
Statement makes no sense!

I've never been unemployed, however I do not believe you slagging off everyone that is unemplyed is productive in any shape or form? I'm sure there are better people than you and I that are unemployed.
Jess.
