Hi all!
Basically I am an 18 year old student going into my second year at uni. When we first started we were recommended (forced!) to purchase a laptop with the uni's partner lenovo. These laptops were £500 had most software on it but the main problem was the sheer bulkiness (and they didnt look very good either)! This laptop will be going to my little sister as its not very practical for everyday uni journeys and she gets a free laptop!
Now going into second year I am just looking to buy a laptop that isnt too expensive, maybe £300-£400, which would just mostly be used for internet and then microsoft office for my essays etc. I dont know if office comes with most laptops or not - Im not very spec savvy or anything so dont mind purchasing their office seperately from the laptop as I understand they have a good deal on for students anyway.
So I would be eternally greatful if anyone could recommend any good laptops/deals - I would prefer a Dell or other well-known brand tho!
Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I bought my last lappy from Novatech. Their customer service is first rate.
They can work out a lot cheaper than the major brands because they import the chassis in bulk and fit the innards themselves.
They are reputable and have been around for years. You also get free lifetime phone support and it is in the UK Portsmouth headquarters not some foreign call centre.
Axses E15 Pro 298 without windows or 357 with.

I'm considering the Sony Vaio NR32MS as think that will do me for my needs like you. 1.73GHZ 2GB Ram 200GB h/disk can get it around the £402 mark if you go through Quidco at laptops direct0
