Help with Laptop processor type

I am trying to sort out which Laptop to purchase. The processors are extremely confusing which one is better.

Intel Pentium Dual Core
Intel Core 2 Duo
Intel Celeron Duel Core

They also have different processors speeds within each one as well. How much difference does it make. I am going for 2GB Memory and about 120Gb hd.

Celeron is the 'budget' range of processors, will do the job but not as well as the other two. Personally would choose the Core 2 Duo.

Work out what you want to use the laptop for first, then people on this forum might be able to give more advice.

As a rough guide I would say:
looking at holiday photos, playing music, surfing web - Celeron Dual Core is adequate
editing photos, playing video, office applications - Pentium Dual Core (faster)
playing games, editing video, demanding applications - Core2Duo (fastest)

It also depends on how much you want to spend - a Celeron Dual Core is adequate for most tasks, but if you might end up using the laptop for something more demanding than expected then Pentium Dual Core would be better.

The Best one is the Core2Duo >Dual Core>Celeron Dual Core

I would get either the Core2Duo or the Dual Core. Don't personally like the performance of the Celeron processors.
