Hi all,
Have just purchased one of the above cameras and hubby noticed on his company intranet that someone was advertising the following lens for sale; Vivitar 28-90mm macro. It says in the advert that it can be used on the alpha series but I was wondering if anyone knows if it will and also what price i should expect to pay for it? Also, what can the lens be used for (taking pictures - i know;)) and what does it have over the kit lens for the A300?
Thanks in advance.

macro lenses are mainly for close up photography - more here.
although ive never heard of vivitar making DSLR lenses but i do know they make rubbish point and shoot compact cameras0 -
Long ago Vivitar did make good lenses for SLR cameras (or at least got third parties to make them). I know nothing of this lens, but if interested, remember to check if it will be manual focus only, and how well it will work on a digital SLR rather than a 35mm SLR.0
