Hi All,
I have a slight problem and would love some advice on solving it. I used to commute to work in a car, but since the fuel rises, I have opted for the quicker method of my motorbike.
Problem is, I really miss listening to the radio on the ride in. I already have an mp3 player, but I don't want to listen to tracks, I want the banter of radio.
I have tried the in-built radio on my phone (FM) (Samsung Soul), but it is intermittent and loses its signal more often than it gets one.
I haven't got the money, nor do i want to change my phone at the mo, so thats out of the question. I have looked on the net and found a couple of applications - radiobee and mfradio, but they don't seem to work on my phone.
Basically, I want to listen to clear radio whilst riding along. Can anyone suggest or help in anyway, bearing in mind what I have already done/tried?
Thanks in advance

Podcasts? http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/directory/genre/
For example, I usually get the daily 5-Live 'Wake up to money' - lasts roughly how long it takes me to walk to work, and I usually listen to it a couple of hours after it's broadcast so still relevant. (It's broadcast 5.30am-6am)Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Yeah, I did think of that, but I don't want to have to download something on my computer every day and then transfer it to my phone.
I just want to turn the phone on, connect to the web and listen to radio
If it is worth knowing, I have free internet access via my phone, so in theory, I could leave it on all of the time0 -
Why can't you just use a normal pocket radio?.....0

I was thinking more of using your mp3 player for itConjugating the verb 'to be":

Absolutely nothing. The problem is that the radios in phones are very poor and need a very good signal to work especially as your headphones are the aerial. You've not got that and the electrical noise from the bike is a large source of interference as well.
You can put whatever application you wish on your phone but it can't make the hardware work better.0 -
If you get free internet access why not access the BBC radio player on https://www.bbc.co.uk and listen to whichever BBC station you prefer.
You could also get an attachment for your mp3 player to turn it into a radio player. What type of player have you got?
I have an iPod and have this attachment that lets me listen to the ipod or radio via the ipod and it is also has a bluetooth connection to my mobile phone so that I can take a call if one comes in while I am listening to it.0 -

Because it doesn't take video, pictures, make phone calls, play non-radio music....Conjugating the verb 'to be":

This is the address I use for listening to Radio 1 on my phone, or on my PC. It's lower bandwith, so hardly ever cuts out, but is still pretty good stereo. Obviously this all depends on how good your connection is and it's generally better on 3G or above.

It should open in whatever is you default media player as long as it can link to URL's. You can replace the 1's in radio1 with 2,3,4 or 5 to get the the main BBC stations.0 -
