Ring em up and pay over the phone, then your payment is logged on the computer from when you pay!My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0

Who told you that? Its still in the application booklets and the staff havent been told that!!#KiamaHouse0 -

However they said because it's a building society, if I pay by cash in a Nationwide branch they first turn it into a cheque, and then blah blah blah.
Ok, cut a long story short. They have agreed 'this time only' to weive the charge. But it just seems to me to be wrong, if it's going to take 5 days for any type of payment method (even cash in a branc) then it should say so on the letter or at worse in the small print of the T&Cs.. but I've not seen it !
Pretty much all credit cards work like this. The information is easily available. Why havent you set up a minimum payment direct debit - then you wont be paying late. You can still pay more off is you want to after.

Yes it was circulated to card holders, if you dont believe me check the date due on your statement.
Branch staff may not know as they dont actually handle the credit card, its via the Swindon main offices0 -

Having meticulously worked out the remaining balance after the minimum payment and making a payment of that amount before setting off abroad (the only time I use this card) I am shocked to discover that the Direct Debit for the min. payment was automatically cancelled by Nationwide as I had made a payment larger than the minimum payment. Leaving a balance of just under £19 and of course now that I have added transactions I will have to pay interest on the full balance. Can't find this in the T&C's! This is the opposite of any other credit card I have ever had, the DD for the min payment is always paid and I make payment on top of that amount to avoid paying interest. Grrhhh0 -

Not LLoyds . I pay mine in cash at the counter ON the due date and that is perfectally acceptable.
Mint card I pay over the phone using my debit card. Tha payment takes two days to be actioned, but it is logged as paid the day the call was made ie THe due date.
Amex Ditto.
Obviously if you haven't a branch near you or are going away, then yes you'll have to set up a DD or transfer a few days prior to the due date0 -

Statement Date: 07 September 2006
Minimum Due Date: 22 September 2006HGLTsuperstar wrote:Branch staff may not know as they dont actually handle the credit card, its via the Swindon main offices
It's handled in Southend on Sea, but the branch staff sell the product, so they should be aware of the interest free periods.
