If you are medically unfit to drive then they may well take your licence away. Not sure I understand from your post what the nature of your condition may be?
Why did the doctor advise you to inform the DVLA?0 -
No idea what drug "olna" is as it doesn't show up anywhere.0

I think a bit more info is required but certain drugs/medications/afflictions that can affect the ability to drive safely have to be notified to the DVLA (thank goodness).
You've done the right thing of course and shouldn't worry but with a bit more history I'm sure someone here will be able to do a little reasearch on your behalf;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
i on 10mg of olnzapine the doctor said i fine to drive just must inform them.0
-
surely you would not be allowed to drive in between your informing them and them returning their verdict?
If you crashed into me becasuse you were hi (or low) on something i would be a bit annoyed
I would assume the dr is just telling you to tell them to cover his own back, if it was anything strong it would be straight cut ( i would hope)0 -
i don have hi or lows i am stable.i need my driving lience to drive to work and my parnter to work.i on the medication because i get parnid and anxiety and the medication controls this.0

This page http://www.nmhct.nhs.uk/Pharmacy/atypical.htm suggests that you can drive so long as the drugs do not make you feel drowsy, which is most likely to occur after taking the tablets. The page has a link to the DVLA site, but the link is dead.
Here's a web page that may be of interest. http://www.rethink.org/living_with_mental_illness/everyday_living/driving/index.html
Try not to worry too much about it. If everything is as you say and controlled and you do not experience drowsiness with the drugs I think you will be fine. All you can do is fill out the form and send it off.0 -
Olnazapine has some real serious side effects which is why you may end up not being able to drive whilst on it.
The ones of note in regard to driving are:- impaired judgment, thinking, and motor skills
- impaired spatial orientation
- impaired responses to senses
- dizzines
- sedation

So maybe best not drive in the meantime?
Please,:T
