DIY Kitchen, should I even try?

I used larkandlarks.co.uk for replacement kitchen doors for my home. They have a door range starting from about 8 quid per door, so you can do a good refurb on the cheap! I think its more about accessories, so pick yourself some nice taps or door handles and you give the effect of an expensive kitchen.

Steve, I've always wondered what a kitchen would look like with just new doors, handles etc. I've got a white gloss kitchen, would it be possible to buy different coloured doors, handles etc and it looking OK with the white units?0

I have done three kitchens now. Well the same kitchen in three different houses. I'm not going to say a professional would have been proud of every bit of it (of course I made the usual mistakes) but I certainly was compared to the ancient / not enough cupboards thing I had before. Must have cost me £600 all in (not including appliances) but well worth it. Bought it as a takeaway kitchen from Focus when it was on a 50% sale and like I said, its lasted thru three moves. I don't think anyone would have know it was a DIY job - and my skills were a lot of determination/patience/willing to think things thru and not a lot else before I started. Did have problems with uneven floors but I thought that's what adjustable legs/spirit level were invented for????lol0
