Pleasurewood Hills Lowestoft.

Just been to Pleasurewood hills with the kids.

How on earth does this place get away with the state of the park? They are charging as much and advertising it as a major theme park, yet the rides are ancient and the place itself is absolutly distgusting. ok they have 2 new rollercoasters but the place has not been painted since it opened.

the laugh is, the 1st ride you see as you go in is the carosell. Totally shabby, even the fence around it was old and worn. But proudly fixed on to it was a sign saying they are celebtating the parks 20th or 25th year (cant remember which).

All of the kids rides are worse than you see on a travelling fair and the buildings look like they should be on a deserted pleasurebeach.

Ok, the kids absolutely LOVED it but they were not paying for the experience!

I know when I went 3 years ago they were meant to be starting a refurb of the park....obviously this never went ahead.
  • we went last week and go every year. it may not be as modern as somewhere like alton towers but we always have a good day out. generally clean and tidy and enough to fill a day for all ages. i prefer it to the pleasure beach.
    now mum of 4!!!

I have been every year with my 3 kids (its an hour away from us), using my tesco vouchers so it cost £6(!) instead of £60 odd, it has always been clean and the kids loved it.
When my son, then 2, fell over and split his head, the staff were quick and efficient and I couldn't have asked for more help.
Maybe you went on a bad day for them.

  • Think I should clarify my original post.

The place is clean, tidy and OLD OLD OLD.

Makes me mad to see hundreds of families handing over a fortune and they cannot be bothered to paint the place or upgrade the ones put in decades ago.

Tell me ANNIEHAHA and 3KIDSNOMONEY can you honestly say the Fairy tale ride and the Pirate boat trip, the swinging chairs and the little helicopters to name just a few are what a place like that should have? Bet you dont see them on any advertising board.

Hmm...that's surprised me. I went up to Hop farm with the kids was advertised being really amazing, loads of farm animals, rides you name it. When we arrived we were given these wrist tags and thought all the bouncy castles, circus and roller coasters were part of the price, NO. Only the swing and sandy play and go carts up to aged 9 were free. The Farm consisted of two pigs, 3 horses, a handful of rabbits, guinea pigs, couple of birds, two goats and that was it. Complete waste of money!
  • it was a lot of money for very little chessingtons is so much better
