Ant Insurance - Increased premiums

I took out income protection with Ant Insurance (I found them on this site) in July this year. The quote was good and my first payment was taken by DD in July. However this month (August) they took more than double the payment so I rang to tell them of their mistake. But apparently it's no mistsake. They have increased their premiums and claim to have sent a letter to customers advising them of this however I have certainly not received any letter and according to the chap I spoke to at Ant Insurance yesterday lots of their customers are calling to say they have received no such letter and had no idea their premiums were going up (more than double in my case!!!) I've cancelled!!!

Hi,
We did have a letter from Ant Insurance advising that because of the current climate in the economy, they were putting our insurance up from £26 per month to £72  - nice! So we've cancelled.
However, if you go back on to the Ant Ins site from the links on MSE, you can still get reasonable quotes, which is fine if redundancy etc isn't looming in the next few weeks, but very odd.0
