i am looking for some cheap car hire at alicante airport ,i have used carjet they are cheap but am still trying to save some pennies

Try Star Car Rental at Alicante Airport. They are located in the airport car park. I've used them for the last 3 years. They are about the cheapest you will find and the cars are all practically brand new. You can find details here.

I used carjet. They are fairly cheap even if not the cheapest, but I liked the fact that there is no hassle with excesses so no worries about dents/scratches and arguing over whether the scratch was already there or not.

I ordered a Focus and when I went to pick it up, it was a brand new Merc.

I've booked with them many times and if you take their 'damage excess waiver' at £2/day you have the same excess protection as https://www.carjet.com

The last 2 years I've used Holiday Auto's I've booked with a 25% off promotion and, even adding on the damage excess waiver premium, it's worked out a bit cheaper than Carjet. Plus, if you do have any "squabbles", you can sort them out in your native tongue when you return home.

I can recommend Auriga and Centauro as car suppliers if you get the choice when you book.

I agree that carjet are cheap.The all in deal which also has the no excess
insurance.But be wary.Read the small print.Some on here may think that a minor accident maybe at no cost to them.They are to make sure they complete the necessary paperwork and advise the company as soon as possible.Even if it means within the hour.Police ref numbers maybe required.

As for worrying about whether a dent was there or not.We collected our car
from Carjet at Gibraltar.The collection is from an underground car park on the spanish side(becareful because they don't bring it to the airport-right pain).
I found four different dents on the car(one underneath and they like to charge for these)All were not on the paperwork that you are asked to sign BEFORE you accept the car.Double check everything before you shoot off.I know you can all be excited but you maybe lumbered with an unnecessary charge.Also one of the wheel trims were missing.This was also not on the form

As for getting a Merc.I'm sure it was worth it.Just I guess your wallet was a liitle lighter for the fuel.

hi I use https://www.recordrentacar.com in Gran Canaria and just seen on their web site that they now do alicante ,you should try them out and if you join their club you get 5 euros of the first rental + you earn points of the following rentals ,the way they work in Gran Canaria is the car is fully covered and they dont even check the car when you get back you just leave the keys,not like a few car rentals companys in spain who go over the car with a fine tooth comb to see if you have put any marks on the car ,also when we use this company in G/Canaria you book the cheapest and they never have any, ie booked ford ka ,got 206 or R/clio or 306 all less than 6 months old,got one 1 time with just 1000km on clock.I have used the points for next year and got 15 euros of my price,I have booked with some of the other allinclusive companys and always had to pay an extra charge for the like of damage tyres,or locks or windows but there is never any extra with recordrentacar
