Depends on what sort of output you have on the camcorder
Firewire is probably still the connection of choiceTANSTAAFL !0 -
A hi-8 camcorder is analogue so won't have a firewire connection, to get the video into your PC you will need some sort of Analog to digital converter.
On the PC you will have to have video editing and DVD burning software. Something like this:

If you have XP then you will have Windows movie maker 2 which is an easy editor to use. The best resource for this can be found here togther with loads of info on capture cards etc. Dont be put off by the websites name the guy is a Microsoft MVP.

https://www.simplydv.com is the place for all your answers - but you really need to do it through firewire - USB and USB2 just don't cut the mustard for video transfers - unless you like watching jumpy postage stampsThere are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0
