New driving licence

Thinking of getting a new licence to replace my tatty paper one and get some endorsements off. I think SP30s are automatically removed after 4yrs?

Does anyone know if it is worth it, or if there are plans to integrate it some other licence or compulsory identification cards in the near future. Don't want to pay twice!

i thought everyone had to change to the smaller card type licence

There's no requirement to swap a paper licence to a photocard, if someone chooses to do that there's a charge (unless there's a change of name/address in which case it's free).

I've not heard about plans to integrate it with any other type of ID card/DNA database/human chip implant (ok I made the last one up) so if I were you I'd get the SP30s removed if they've expired, that should bring insurance down a bit.

If you have been driving long enough you could request to have minibus or 7.5 ton lorry on your licence. You then get a new one!!

The only exception is if you have a paper provisional and pass your test then need to get a full license.

No, I still have the old paper one, and unless DVLA change it for free, I will be keeping it.;)
