NHS Bursary and Student Loan

  • Mm. What's worse is that i'm from NI but studying in england so our NHS bursary works in a different way from English folk - a cheque gets sent to the uni finance dept after much ringing up and prompting once a term - not neatly done monthly by BACS like the well organised english one. And no mention of travel disregard or anything lol.

What a load of rubbish eh?

People don't take the issue seriously because they presume that all medical students are rich kids. That just isn't the case anymore. I'd rather have the loan. That way either I have a relatively good job and I can pay it back, or I can't get a job because of MMC/MTAS and I don't have to pay the bloody thing back anyway. :rotfl:

It's not funny, but what can you do?

As I said above, many nursing students do the diploma for financial reasons, an option that isn't open to medical students.
