I dont know if its what your looking for but I have frosting on my front door glass. Its like fablon and I just cut it to the shape I wanted and it does the privacy thing and lets the light in. Im sure you can get it in a spray can form aswell. Finally, I can see you crystal clear0

I don't know how you'd go about getting it but what about a mirror film on the window so that people walking past can only see their own reflection but you could see out? I don't know if there'd be planning issues though? Obviously this wouldn't work at night but you could draw the curtains then.0

Some blinds let the light in but are pretty opaque from outside...worth having a look to see if you an identify them (unless you really want to be able to see out properly)0

Venetian blinds could be one option, they work well at letting light in while preventing people seeing in, depending on the way you angle them. You can get a great variety these days.

i've got venetian, but oliver2008's frosted glass really appeals to me, you can buy it in spray form (although I wouldn't), you can cut it yourself, get it professionally fitted (I would have to) or even get your glass replaced with frosted glass. You can get patterned glass too. type frosted glass into google, or go and have a look in the home magazines where these things are advertised.
done well it will really add some kerb appeal.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0
