Above are all very valid points.
It is not so much the people who don't thank AT ALL - it's the people who thank the op for posting the comp but then don't bother to thank the person who has taken the time to research an answer for everyone to use.
so for instance, the op may get say, 100 thanks but the person who posted the answer may only get 10-15 thanks.
Anyhow, back to happy happy joy joy for me - have just got a red card so need to go check out what I've won!The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word!0 -
I agree RCB, I always try to thank both the OP and the person providing the answer (if it isn't in OP). For instance, the daily comps...... some have a different answer every day and I always try to thank the person providing the answer daily. I am grateful for everyone who finds these comps (have found a couple myself but always get beaten to posting them
) and to everyone who provides the answers. This is by far the best Forum I have known......... cheers everyone
PS....... Let us know what the Red Card was for RCBIf at first you don't succeed ........Alternative autism therapies should be free!!

I agree with all of these posts. I try and make sure I thank anyone who has helped in anyway with a comp that includes the poster, the person who has answered and anyone else who has backed it up or double checked it.
I know not everyone is confident on the net but I do find it slightly annoying when someone only joins once they have won something big and that's there first post - that means they never joined before and with that never thanked anyone for making the effort to post comps or answers. Even if you feel uncomfortable posting, etc., it takes nothing but manners and a click of a mouse to join and thank all those who put so much into this section.~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0 -
I kind of get what you are trying to say but to be honest, to me personally, if the thanks button is pressed or not is secondary. It would certainly be polite to thank any contributor to the forum, even new members who feel obliged enough to report their winnings. What I feel is that the post containing the answer might not be quite noticeable given that it is not the first post, and people might genuinely miss it.0
