Several people have mentioned the Humax PVR9200T. I was about to buy one a few weeks ago and luckily spotted that Humax introduced an updated model at the beginning of August ... the Humax PVR9300T with a 320GB hard disk capable of recording up to 200 hours of programs, twin tuner, etc.
So I got the 9300T and I'm really pleased with it, particularly with the intuitive ease of use, which is a failing of so many other PVRs.
The only niggle, and it seems to be a 'feature' of the Humax range, is that the cooling fan on the back can be heard as a constant background hum when the program is quiet. I've got used to this, however, and doesn't bother me at all now.
I bought mine on-line at John Lewis which came with their 2 year guarantee.

Not all twin tuner allow you to watch and record 2 programs. Humax does and it will depending on the channels let you record 2 and watch a 3rd freeview channel
Is this accurate? My understanding of the Humax models with twin tuners (not had time to test it yet) is that you can ...
a) record one digital channel (tuner 1) whilst watching a second digital channel live (tuner 2)
or
b) record two digital channels (tuners 1 & 2) whilst watching a programme you've already recorded to the hard disc.
I don't think you can be recording two digital channels and be watching a third digital channel live. Obviously, you can be watching either of the channels you are currently recording.

You can watch a 3rd depending on if it uses the same mux as one of the channels recording

My 160gb Humax which I got when they first came out 3 years ago is brilliant never a fault. I have never filled it most is about 60% and I record a lot as I cant stand much of the tripe on tv now and record what I want. I doubt you will ever fill 320gb. I find the usb2 transfer flawed though very slow and hit n miss0 -

Ah right, thanks for clarifying that. I'll have to give that a go. Cheers.

Sorry, if I haven't phrased that correctly, but that is a completely new term for me.It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.:A :A :AChocolate is the answer and I don't give a damn whatthe question is.;)0
