Honda civic 1995 automatic judder
My beloved 1995 Honda civic 16esi auto is starting to judder when i drive away from stationary. It doesn't matter if it is in D or S and it also does it in Reverse, as soon as it is moving there is no problem and the box shifts up and down freely. Creeping forward at the lights is becoming painful !
My local independent garage are very good but he was honest enough to admit he has very little experience with Honda cvt boxes and suggested that getting a new box may be required, This I can get for about £300 delivered (from car breaker ) and then i would need to pay for fitting on top.
However has anybody experienced this themselves, or have any other advice before i shell out.
Thanks as ever in advance.

Is it a full auto or CVT...?0

A 95 Civic will be a full auto. Sounds like the valve body has burnt out.The man without a signature.0

If you replace the box, don't buy a box from a breaker. You'll have no guarantee that it works.
Find a local specialist on here http://www.fedauto.co.uk/ and go from there.
At the end of the day it could just need what's left of the fluid and filter changing.0 -

Tut tut. An automatic thread without the involvement of Batman Spangles and Sidekick Robin Jeannieblue. What is the world coming to?
OP I can recommend King Automatics in Epsom if you're anywhere near them. They've been recommended by Honest John countless times and as a result have a backlog for fixing autoboxes. The man without a signature.0 -
or try mackies transmissions in glasgow if your near there?...work permit granted!0

I am in Brighton, but would love to visit Glasgow. Thank you for all your advice.0
