No Credit Card Car Hire
Hi Fellow Money Savers....
I left a message beginning of August about our experience in booking car hire in Murcia without a credit card.
Well, the outcome on contacting Valuecarrentals is as follows, just got the reply today....
Since you sent your original email we have been emailing Solmar customer services regularly to get some answers!
Basically, they are now saying that they will no longer accept bookings from clients who are not CREDIT card holders and they have advised us, as a broker, to inform our future clients. However, if you call the location (i called alicante, murcia, reus etc) it is a different story and they say they will happily accept a VISA DEBIT card for payment on arrival of fuel etc.
So, if you want to make a booking with Solmar for October we will have to advise you that a credit card is required.
I really was hoping to report a positive response from Valurcarrentals, but seems there is no luck. Can anyone else offer any advice as we do not have a credit card and will be travelling again to Murcia in October.
Thank you.... D

Well, the obvious answer is to get yourself a credit card. Travelling is almost impossible these days without one. Nationwide (and I think the Post Office?) don't charge for using them abroad, and Saga don't charge for Euros and only 1% for anything else.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
