Contact the airline and they will let you know what is available and what the price will be.

I imagine so as both Sunday flights are full in economy, and plenty of seats left in Business. Why not give them a call, or go to their ticket desk at Heathrow on Sunday and see what they are offering?

That is, for purchasing an upgrade. I don't get involved in getting a free upgrade discussions anymore :D

Is it possible to pay for an upgrade when checking in with Virgin? I have booked a holiday with Virgin Hols and am currently travelling economy but would be interested to learn if you can upgrade when checking in?

    I am travelling next week.

yes . cash is king . if theres space they will let you have it for a charge
i think economy to premium is £250 per person each way , or it was last year . from economy to upper class is £2000 , but dont quote me on that one , it rings a bell . but defo £250 premium upgrade last year

Virgin commonly offer check-in upgrades from economy to economy plus for £250 per person (one way). The improvements are not that significant, so consider saving the money to spend on your holiday.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Managed to get bumped from economy to club with BA a couple of weeks ago.

I sat up till 2am to do their stupid on line check that only lets you select seats at this point only to find there were seats at the back free.

When I checked in I just asked if they possibly had any with leg room and got given seats in world traveller plus.

Then when I was at the boarding gate my seats were re assigned again to club. Wow! I don't know how I will be able to fly cattle again. Nothing like this usually happens to me!

Please can anyone offer any advice on how to get an upgrade on Qantas to Hong Kong then on a separate flight from Hong Kong to Brisbane then on other Qantas flights?

It's quite easy, you just contact qantas for the price, then pay the bill.

  • Would there be any chance Virgin would upgrade us knowing the holiday was for a wedding anniversary? I am going to be booking a suprise for on the flight so they would have it on the booking thats its an anniversary gift?

If you do not have status it is unlikely, there will be a high number of people on the flight that will have had a recent birthday/ anniversary/ other special occasion. You can ask, but prepare to be knocked back.
