Hi
As a bit of a novice who has always just muddled there way through - would anyone be able to advise how best to pick an IFA for savings and pension advice? Are there any qualifications/awards that I should look out for?
Thank you very much for any help you can give.

To be an IFA you have to have met a certain level of qualification. There are higher qualifications but typically you would expect the higher qualifed advisers to either be more expensive or to focus on higher net worth clients. So, unless you have a large investment then it can be a bit overkill to specifically look for a chartered IFA for example.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Hi Thank you - unfortunately we don't have a large investment - it is more just to tidy up the various pensions we have all over the place and to start a regular equity based investment.0

In which case any IFA should meet your needs and you know they will meet at least the minimum criteria by being an IFA.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
