When i start my laptop up with the battery in place.everything moves in slow motion and altough i can sign on to AOL it never starts up properly. But remove the battery and everything is fine. But when the battery is removed and everthing is working properly and i insert the battery it does not cause problems like on start up.

You should remove the battery if fully charged , when using the mains power.
It sounds like the battery might be damaged or on its last legs.

the battery only ever lasts for about 10 mins,so it could be kapput, but arent toy supposed to keep the battery attached to the laptop at all times.
