I received my new phone today BUT I am not getting a signal.
Says limited service

Is there anything you can suggest?

It is a Samsung G600 on Vodafone

    check to make sure the imei isnt all 0's (press *#06# at the main screen) or it hasnt been barred.

    otherwise take the sim out and give it a clean, then try again

  • is it NEW or is it just new to you because you just bought it?

    Call your operator and see why its not on, usually they say turn it off for 48 hours, with the battery detached.

    have you got another vodafone sim to try?

    it may be that there are problems (or maintenance work going on) at your local vodafone mast and thats preventing the phone from connecting

    As far as I am aware it is new and it is new to me
    I am new to Vodafone, could it be that the signal strength round here is never much good?

    have you had a look on the vodafone coverage map to check that your area can get vodafone signal?

    should be able to get a service

    I phoned Vodafone to discover they had not activated my sim card.
    The guy I spoke to said he couldnt understand why.

    it amazes me that people ask for help, before doing the simplest things like talking to their service provider and asking.. why isn't it working!!

    because it could have been something really simple...the sort of thing that you would die of embarrassment when you find out the answer
