hi all, i have three years no claims that i have on my private car, had an accident few weeks ago my fault i was driving someone elses car as a named driver, my insurance is up for renewal have i lost my 3 years no claims

That is correct. (You have to declare the incident to your insurer)
But your ncb should not be affected.0 -
You can only lose your no claim discount if you make a claim on your policy. This is just a guess but if you have 'driving other cars' cover on your own policy, you may have been doubly insured at the time of the accident and the owner's insurers have asked your own insurers to contribute to the claim.
That would constitute a claim on your own policy and cost you your no claim bonus.0 -

I misread the post. He would only lose his no claim discount in the circumstances I outlined.0
