BBC iPlayer problem

I am currently having a problem and would appreciate any help. I can successfully download the programmes from the website. However when watching the downloads they play OK for up to 20 mins but then the picture freezes and after a few seconds the screen goes blank although the sound still works. The only way out is the to power down my laptop and reboot.

I used to have that problem on my laptop, and I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it.
in power options, you don't have it set to switch off the monitor after 20 mins do you? I know it'll stay on when you're doing something, but try setting it to 'never' , see if that's it...

Tried that but problem still persists. Could it be a problem with the graphics card?0
