    hi everyone,

Impossible, as you have the facts and have not given enough information here! Prices vary from region to region and also on your actual consumption.

You will pay more if you choose not to use DD.

Why? Try several different comparison sites and see who comes out best for you and your particular circumstances.

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to save money, you will have to put some effort in for yourself.

How can we ever know, who is the cheapest supplier? Unless we can view every suppliers,KWH rates for Gas and Electricity, and judge for ourselves.
Is their such a comparison site?

Have you read the Sticky at the top of this Gas & Elec group  There are many price comparison sites, see also this Link where they have been discussed previously.

  • Which also brings up the question of why dual fuel?
Dont fall for all that discount for dual fuel, 20 quid off per year rubbish.

I was shocked when I did a comparison to find out if it would be cheaper to use two different companies. I had already managed to clock up just under 90 quid savings in quotes by just transfering my dual fuel. Like most folks who havent researched it I was under the impression that ALL of the dual fuel deals were "we will give you back a cut of the profits because we are making money off you twice" but then I realised something that I hadnt noticed before...

All the companies for me seemed to use the same system. Charge one of the utilities at a bargain rate, the other at a stupidly high rate, offer them 20 quid a year discount for taking both and lets hope they never split there suppliers again.

The strange thing is, I am much better off getting my Electricity off British Gas, and my Gas off Southern Electricity. Infact, a good 50 quid a year better off than the best dual fuel. I used two referal sites and got two sets of cashback too (27.50 total cashback). Never forget, all these companies, no matter what they are selling you, only tell you half the story. The story that makes them sound better than they are.

If it is because you do not fancy going to the bank, then why not use your local corner shop? Most of them have a Pay Point type machine now, you see a PP symbol outside, and they can accept payments for gas or elec the same as any bank or post office.
