Lucky you! You rarely see more than 2 despite the fact we all need many more.jsp wrote:TV -> 3 scarts
Freeview 1 > TV AV1
DVD Player > TV AV2
DVD Recorder 1 > TV AV3
Freeview 2 > DVD Recorder 2
VCR - just link to TV through normal areial (RF) cable and tune in as a normal TV channel
Obviously one cannot be connected to the TV by Scart so it might as well be the VCR as this wouldn't be fantastic quality in the first place. It is vital that the Freeview is connected to the DVD Recorder (to record from it).
If ever you needed to copy a DVD to Video (or vice versa) just take the one linking the DVD Recorder to Freeview and move it so it connects the DVD Recorder and VCR and put it back when you're finished.
Set the DVD recorder and freeview outputs to RGB (in their own setup menus) to get the best quality picture.0 -
Thanks for the quick response. I have to transfer a number of home videos from VCR to DVD, so in order to avoid switching the cables around when changing the input source, would I be able to connect the scarts from the VCR and Freeview box to a Scart Switching Unit with the output going into the DVD recorder, or would this affect the RGB Freeview output ?0

You could do that. I have never used a swtiching box, but that should work fine. I'm not sure on the RGB Freeview output, but your DVD Recorder may well accept RGB anyway.jsp wrote:Thanks for the quick response. The switching unit wouldn't mess up RGB, although if the DVD Recorder doesn't accept RGB signals you may just have to use normal Scart singals (which are still very good quality so I wouldn't worry about it).
Hope that helps!
