How are you planning on paying the loan back if you are off travelling and have no income?
    :p

Beanie - the plan is to pay of the monthly repayments from the total borrowed. i.e loan the right amount where I can pay back the repayment and still have a monthly allowance to spend on accom etc....

So a loan to pay the loan off, and give you enough to party with, with no job, and you're leaving the Country??

    Should be simple.

I do not want the money to party with. I am going to use it to experience life, see lanmardks, learn about different cultures and become a better person. The world is alot larger than England. Life is not about money although it is needed to do almost anything! With regards to a job - I have one waiting for me for the day I return, I have been wokring since I have left school and think its about time for me to see the world.

What would you suggest then? I am leaving so staying is not an option.

Not enough info given to know whether your plan is sensible or not but bank of mum and dad comes to mind

if you are in a regular job now and have a good credit rating then there is no reason why a bank shouldn't make you a loan .. you could say its for a car

depending upon where you are going maybe you could work during your travels.

how long are you going for
    where are you going
    how much have you saved
how much do you want to borrow

I have already tired that one! the best way to get a low rate on a loan would be for my parents to add it to there mortage and then loan that to me, once back get straight back into work and then loan that lower amount to repay. needless to say that didnt work out!

I am going for a max of 10 months
America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong
I have already paid for the ticket, insurance, some accom, injections and a few bits needed for the travels.
I would like to borrow 8-9k.

Would a few credit cards be a better idea!?

In what way did this not work out? Can you give more details about your current job, termination date, the likely salary when you return and any institutions you have already approached? This would help people give you firmer advice.
It is, of course, possible that what you hope to achieve will not be possible - particularly in the current climate. An SOA is always helpful for detailed advice.
