Virgin Trains Ticket Advice Please

I am going to London from Manchester in October.
It's very rare I use the train outside the Manchester area.

Virgin Trains website are offering four tickets:

1. Advance
2. Semi-Flexible
3. Flexible
4. First Class

I phoned Virgin because I wanted to go off peak (leaving Sat after 10am,returning Sun after 10am)

I also have a disability and have purchased a disabled adults railcard.

The problem is that it can take me longer sometimes to get about and don't want to be tied to one train.
So if I missed the 10.15am, I could just get 1045am.etc

I asked Virgin which ticket I needed, but to my dismay the customer service representative wasn't sure if it's flexible or semi-flexible I need!!

So anyone who deals with Virgin know the answer....please??

For changes to travel on the day at a weekend you need the semi-flexible "saver" ticket.

The advance tickets will tie you to specific trains, so no use to you.

The semi-flexible will have some restrictions (e.g. not until after 10am etc) [there aren't any restrictions at weekends that I'm aware of anyway] - this is your best choice.

You might be able to upgrade (on the train) to 1st class anyway using Weekend First (don't if Virgin do this - usually around £5-£7.50 each way)

Just remembered unlike other railcards you also get discount on first class tickets, so it might be worth investigating that.

aint it cheaper to just upgrade to 1st on the trains?? its like £15 london to mancs...
