How Will I Do This

I was trying to install Zone alarm,as the laptop I have bought has a free 60 day trial of McAfee and I don't want to have to pay for security when this runs out.I ran the download and it came up that zonelarm vista has compatability issues with McAfee and cannot be used together.It said that I had to uninstall McAfee before I could install Zonealarm.
My questions are how do I uninstall McAfee and surely doing so would leave my system open to attack as until I installed Zonealarm I would'nt have security so what is the answer.Also is Zonealarm sufficient security,I have a Netgear router and it's supposed to be protected as well.I used only Zonealarm with my desktop for years with no problems but I'm a bit worried about security with a wireless connection.As you can probably guess I don't have a clue about technical stuff.Thanks.

First of all enable Vista firewall, this will protect you while you download any other firewalls. Go to all programmes, windows defender.

1. Download ZoneAlarm

2. Download the McAfee removal tool

3. disconnect from the internet

4. Uninstall McAfee using the above tool

5. Install ZoneAlarm

6. connect to the internet again

Do you already have anti-virus and anti-spyware apps?

you could do with antivirus and antispyware as well as a firewall...

get free edition of avast antivirus (includes e-mail scanner) and free edition of spyware doctor.
