Making a will ?

Not sure if this is the right place to post , please feel free to remove to the correct forum .
We want to make a will to cover all eventualities and having read a few bits and pieces , we have decided on a "mirror will". Does anyone have any knowledge about the net based companies who offer a service whereby a professional will reader will go over our request and offer advice and then we can print it off ? There is nothing controversial in our wishes , but is it legal to do this or do we have to take everthing to a solicitor ? The company are offering the whole package for £49.95. Any advice , tips would be gratefully recieved .x :A

    Hi, Lady E,

I would suggest that you go to a solicitor and have the thing done properly. There is too much scope for things to go wrong ( and even outright fraud ) with will writing companies. A solicitor won't charge that much for a straightforward set of mirror wills.

I have got a quote from a Will writing company http://www.wsl-ltd.co.uk/ They quote £165 for a will for a couple. They say that they are a member of "The Society of Will Writers". http://www.willwriters.com/ They say that a trained will writer sit with you on one visit and gathers all your details and give you advice on trust funds and inheritance tax. The will is then drawn up and is overseen by a solicitor in the company.

What I am asking ... is ... is it still better to go to a solicitor?

    Thanks
