Hi all
Apologies for my mis spelling in the title.
I (for my sins) have Orange broadband with a live box.
When I try to connect all looks well - connected, signal strength excellent so all should be well - except that no web pages will load.
I have spent an hour on the phone to their call centre and the best help he gave me was that he would send a new ASDL filter.
I had a spare so changed it and this hasn't fixed the problem (no surprise there then)
Anyone else having probs or is it just me???
Any suggestions would be very welcome as I am having to use my oh so slow 3G modem for the time being

does anything work...e-mail, internet radio?
things that don't work on port 80, which is for HTTP requests..
if they don't, then it could be a DNS issue, which is simple to resolve, if they do, and web browsing doesn't, the livebox could have some settings wrong it in, blocking standard web browsing requests..
these are my thoughts currently.

Have you tried both wireless and ethernet connections.0

Although you can connect wirelessly to the router, have you set up your orange username / password within the router settings?
Other thing to check: Have you got an ADSL filter on every other phone socket in the house that has things plugged into it (including phones, faxes, anything.)Russia is HERE0 -

I have been using this set up for over a year and have never had this problem before.
I only have one phone socket in the flat. I put a new ADSL filter on tonight and there is just the livebox and one phone plugged into it0 -
How about a reset to the factory default settings.0

I have huge problems with Orange. Try going to IP address 192.168.1.1
Username and password both admin. This should take you to your livebox screen if you have a connection. Check in here what it says your connection status is, and that your orange username and password are both correct.
Failing that.. what is your @ light on your livebox doing?

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.
As if by magic it is working fine this morning!

I've just spent a couple of hours trying to get an Orange ADSL connection working; and finally tracked it down to the router not giving out DHCP addresses reliably!
Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't! Which is why fault finding it was so difficult. I have decided the best thing to do is buy a new cheap ADSL wireless router.A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0
