Standing Order

I set a standing for the 15th August, and thought it will be in that person account by that date. I was surprised to find out that although the money has been taken from my account, that person did not get pay on the 15th. Am I right to think that standing order usually take a couple of days to reach that nominated person account and I was not aware of this!! In that case, I should have set it to be paid on the 13th. Am I correct? Thanks

Yes, I'm not sure if standing orders have been affected by the new faster payments but usually, a SO will hit the other account 2 days after it leaves yours.

And that's working days. So remember Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays don't count as working days in relation to the transit. However, you may find that the money is taken from your account on such days if the regular SO day falls on one.
