Just a question re car insurance?
Hello all
My daughter is a newbie driver and up until she passed her test (yippee!) last week her insurance was £550. This was third party fire and theft, with me and her dad as named drivers - the car is a nissan micra, called Ruby
When she passed I knew I had to phone her insurance company (Quinn's) but was left gobsmacked when they put her premium up by £300. I have to pay this over the remaining 4 months instalments - gulp, the premium went from £44 to £110.
I just wondered if this was common place, I realise she is now a greater liabilty as she is on her own, but was just stunned by the increase - am off to get her (and me) a paper round to help with the cost.

Has she taken her pass plus? This could help reduce the cost slightly.

Don't I know it - just used to worry about her pranging the car or hurting herself - passing her test opens a whole new level of worry!!!
