Making an image

Hi I have a laptop with Vista installed and no recovery disc just a recovery partition, would I be right in thinking that if I made an image say with acronis. I could then format and install XP but in the future use the image disc to then go back to vista. would this be possible. My reason for wanting XP on the laptop is just to see if it will run faster/better.

Yes you are absolutely right, Just verify that the image is created correctly before changing your operating system.
And also you'll definitely find going back to XP to be a breath of fresh air. Make sure you have all the drivers needed ready before you install XP.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
