Replacement Windscreen

A 15 inch crack in my windscreen forces a replacement. And with the MOT due soon I need to get it done.
My windscreen excess is £60 but I have found a place that will do it for £85.
Does anyone know of anywhere that may do it for less than £60?

I'm looking for somewhere in South East Kent.

I'd be grateful to hear of anyones experiences and suggestion.

£60 excess is the best way to go.

It doesn't affect you NCB.

Hmmmm....seems to be £50-£55 second hand excluding fitting, so I would definitely go for the insurance route!!

Crack is right accross the base of the windscreen - does not impair vision but the size of it will cause MOT failure.

Think I'll just ring insurance.

I'd second the idea of just sorting it out through the insurance.

My wife is a teacher and one of the 'little darlings' went on a wrecking spree in the car park and left her with a cracked window after throwing a ball bearing at it. As was mentioned earlier it doesn't affect your NCB and the repairers Autoglass or Autowindscreens sorted it out direct with the insurer, apart from the excess, and came and did it out house.

I just rang Direct Line and they said that I need to get in contact with Autoglass directly.
I noticed that they are on quidco to I have made £6 cashback too.
Brought the cost down to just £54:T

Sorry to butt in on your thread kayak, but I thought it would make more sense to ask my windscreen question here rather than create an identical thread.

Does anyone have an idea of how much it will cost me to get the windscreen replaced on my car? It's a 1993 Ford Sierra and is currently off the road, hence no insurance and no windscreen cover. It's not a heated windscreen.

Some kids threw rocks at it and cracked the otherwise perfect windscreen.

Its a place in Canterbury but its the only place I found that shows prices online.
I can't find a Sierra on there but an Escort of the same age is £72.
