Nationwide, avoid interest paying off introductory 3 mths

Hi,
I hope someone has experience of the Nationwide card.
I got a card with 3 months interest free on purchases, and I have put as much of my usual spending plus holiday spending on the card as possible.
I am coming to the end of my 3 months 0% introductory period and I am trying to work out when I have to pay back to avoid being charged interest.
My 3rd statement has a payment due date of 10th Sept.
I rand NW CC and they said that I had to pay back everything by the 29th August to avoid paying interest, but that can't be right as any purchases made in the third month will automatically have no interest as long as they are paid off by the payment due date for the third statement?
So I assume I need to pay off the balance of the 2nd statement by the 29th of August, and also the balance from the 3rd statement by the 10th Spet to avoid paying interest.
I was trying to ask this from NW CC, but they really didn't know
and I have nothing in writing so any input from anyone who knows would be great!
Cheers, Des.

Hi Des,
No experience with Nationwide, but the summary box says "Introductory rates apply from the date the account is opened". On that basis, I'd say your 0% period probably ends sooner than you perhaps think.
However, a couple of options...
1. Have you closely examined your first/second statements for a message giving the end of promotion date?
2. Do Nationwide (cards) have a secure messaging feature? At least that way you'd get something in writing.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply YB!
1. zilch, nada, sfa
2. Excellent, they do, message despatched, I'll report back when I get a reply.

It makes sense to me, but we will see.
I received a reply to my secure message telling me what my minimum payment is and the date it is due. Classic like I can't read my statement, now any chance of answering the question asked!
