i have also tried the registry edit here but no luck
is there any other free programs or changes i can do to speed up shutdown, many thanks ?

hi there,
where can i obtain that program from, many thanks0 -
Pull the !!!!!!! plug out :rotfl::p
You could try it without those (or some of) programs loaded at startup and see if it helps. I expect Ccleaner has to run at shutdown and that might take a while.
Win Patrol and defrag thing might too. All the stuff you have to speed it up probaly actually slow it down!! I defragged my system once in a few year and the difference I noticed was incredible, incredibly unnoticable that is. Do it once a month if you must,
unless your file system is virtually full, or do it once a year, I don't think you will notice
a difference either way. I certainly never have, apart from the first time I did it and it seemed slower :rotfl:(It booted up slower than before!).
I am surprised your machine runs at all with all that stuff on it!! You seem to be duplicating some tasks, one firewall, one ani-virus, one anti-spyware should be enough.. You can get to the point where the 'anti stuff' causes more hassel than any virus would :rotfl:0 -
hi there,
i do not have all these programs running at start up. i have the minimum i need , avast and comodo firewall , which i monitor with win patrol (this is not set to auto start)
i use the others as and when needed, my understanding is not any one anti spywaare/malware program will catch all spywaare/malware0 -
do you defrag regularly.
if you don't that might be the problem.
also, I think you're going a bit overboard on the protection front.
all anybody really needs is 1 quality anti virus, 1 quality firewall, and 1 quality spyware scanner. and ccleaner."If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0 -
yes i do , i find that Ad-aware ,Spybot , a-squared free , all pick things up that the other ones do not0
