Argos Store Card

Hi all, I have been reading the info on this site for ages but only registered to post on forum today...... anyway, just wanted to ask if anyone has had problems with the Argos Store Card? I was coming towards the end of the interest free period, so, I read about transfering balances on store and credit cards to 0% credit cards etc... so I checked out the best deals recommended on the site and went for the Barclaycard with 0% for 14 months. Received my card, telephoned to activate card and transfer balance over and guess what..... It couldn't be done! The guy I spoke to said that an Argos card is the only store card that you can't transfer balances on, something to do with the system they use, and they know it! So steer well clear!!! Has anyone else experienced this?

yep their credit card is same, they know about that as well, way around it is if you have virgin/mbna card then bt the money over to your bank account or use a cheque from mint and send them that, it counts as a bt you still have to pay the balance transfer fee mind.

Hi, I had this problem when I tried to use a balance transfer card to remove some of the debt on my argos card. Eventually the credit card company got around it by making a payment to argos for the amount and it showed on my new credit card as a balance transfer. So there is a way of doing it just cant remember how the credit card company explained it to me. Sorry
