Adding a provisional driver to my insurance. Will I lose my NCB?

Hi,
I've got 4 years no claims bonus on my car insurance and was thinking of adding my girlfriend the next time I renewed my insurance (either with current Admiral or a new insurer).
My question is, will that mean that I would lose all my no claims bonus, given that she would have none, or would I continue to build NCB with it potentially being lost if she crashes it?
This is a general question, rather than about my specific current insurer, but if people know of particular insurers to go to for this kind of thing any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Tris

You'll only lose your no claim discount if you make a claim. Putting your girlfriend on the policy has nothing to do with it.0

Why would you lose the NCB that you have earned? Is your NCB protected? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

hmm, ok. Was chatting to my dad about this and his view was that the insurance links me and my car. Any change to who else is insured on the car basically wipes the slate clean. Sound like he's talking rubbish then!
The next thing will be figuring out how much extra it will cost to get her added. 27 year old female provisional licence holder. The cars a Saab 2.3 900 Coupe, so not the cheapest to insure. I'm a 29 year old fella with 4 years ncb.
Anyway, thanks for your help.0 -
