Antivirus XP 08 invaded my laptop - help want it removed!

:beer:Browntoa you are a star ! Got a virus on my main pc about 5 weeks ago and had tried everything I could find including avast to no avail. My daughters b/f who works in IT had also tried to get rid of the blasted thing - couldn't access my drives or programs. Downloaded the malwarebytes that you suggested and it has worked. my parents have this avast/vertumonde virus on their pc theycannot access anything the pc start up page is blue ...no task bar or anything alll they can do is turn it off at the wall any suggestions or do theyreally have to take it to be fixed (computer in france tres expensive)

get them to try safe mode

and run their antivirus

or go back to a restore point from a couple of weeks agao

then straight away download and run malwarebytes if it boots up normally after the restore

There is no problem what so ever having this on a clean computer - it works in a reactive capacity and therefore will not interfere with your anti virus software.

It updates several times a day and will tell you if there is a programme update, a few clicks later and you are up and running with the latest version.
