thanks so much folks, i feel much better tonight that i did this morning! All thanks to your words of wisdom and encouragement. Im not going for the IVA after all. Its amazing that you can discuss things with a bunch of strangers that you wouldnt discuss with your nearest and dearest. Ive decided to sell my watch, that should enable me to pay off one card in full. Im also going to cancel my sky (£60pm) and get a free view box, im going to pay the £60 to a creditor instead. If i can get another part time job my mum has offered to mind my son for free, so hopefully more money to pay the debt. So things may not be so bad after all??
You were all right! Debt that has took years to accrue will not dissapear over night, it will take years to repay so i need to relax.
Thanks again and if you know anybody who needs a a part time administrator/PA/ secretary in liverpool you let me know...lol

Have you posted your SOA anywhere?
There are a few things you may be able to do with regards creditcards. If you don't have many late payments or defaults, you may be able to get a 0% card or life of balance (LOB - low interest card) to transfer some of the higher rate debts to. Once you clear a card - if you have been a good customer (payments made on time) sometimes they offer you an incentive to keep the card open rather than close it. This tryp of offer does not usually require a credit check so even if you can't get new cards with promotional deals, it may still be possible to get them from your existing cards after you clear the balance. Just remember neverto spend on any cards you get a promotional offer on and make sure that the minimum payment is always made, otherwise you could lose the promotional rate. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi Maxine. As george said put up your SOA, you may be surprised where savings can be made.
Re work make sure you tell everyone you know that you are looking for work, as well as registering with temping agencies.
The Old style and Up your income boards may be worth a look as well.
Good luck.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0
